The Short Story
Wallblank started in 2008 as an online retail site selling artists’ prints. In 2010, we shifted to helping artists sell their own work, while we provided the printing/packing/shipping to support them. Approximately 30,000 prints later, that mission continues, along with the simple addition of large-scale printing (murals & environments) and consulting.
What Makes Us Different
We’re small and friendly.
We have built awesome relationships with our clients over the years. A huge majority of them we’ve even met in person, making our way to their corner of the world and grabbing coffee with them. Some are now even close friends. How does that happen? We want you to know who you’re working with, who replies to your emails, who is representing you and your work as we produce your images.
This highly personal service also has a downside: it doesn’t scale well, and we’re okay with that. We don’t have a desire to be anything else; we aren’t the next big thing (closer to your old-time barber shop, actually) and sometimes even end up having to turn new clients away. We’ll grow a bit, slowly and intentionally, as necessary, but we refuse to forsake our service, our relationships and our product in doing so.
We don’t think that you should have to get an education in printing. You shouldn’t have to learn about all the different papers, how they all respond to color, contrast, the type of work, etc. You shouldn’t have to learn about packaging prints safely, nor about the best methods of shipping. Or even having to deal with a (rarely) damaged or even missing print. That should all be our job.
We love sharing our knowledge and are happy to answer any questions that you might have. Are you an artist and want to do your own printing? Want to know all of the ins and outs of packaging and shipping prints? Maybe you’re a company or organization who wants to print in-house. We’d love to help with that! It’s sometimes tricky figuring out the balance between offering free advice and turning into a consulting gig, but we’ll do our best to be fair about it as long as you are too.
